- Salt
- 1/4 tsp hing
- 5 cup Water

- Dry roast the moong dhall and soak it then soak the rice.
- In the pressure cooker add 2tbsp ghee,hing,ginger,green chilli,rice,water and salt pressure cook it for 5whistle in a medium flame.Let the pressure release then open the lid and smash the rice.
- In another pan add 2tbsp ghee,cashewnuts,pepper corn,hing,cumin seeds&curry leaves.Now mix this to the rice.
- The pongal is now ready to serve with sambar,coconut chutney and methu vada.
